After installing a dog door, I realized my dogs now had unsupervised access to the pool, leading to unexpected wet dogs and, more importantly, a safety concern when the solar cover was on and I wasn’t home. To solve this, I engineered an extra-long custom aluminum driveway gate. I designed and fabricated the mounting system, developed the mechanical components, and sourced all materials, creating a secure and reliable solution that keeps my dogs safe while maintaining easy access for the family.
