Determined to solve the age-old problem of flimsy beach chairs, I set out to design one that could withstand year-round exposure to the harshest coastal elements; weather, salt spray, UV, and more. Starting with a detailed CAD model, I printed 1:1 tube bending plans and, together with my master fabricator brother-in-law, brought the design to life. We crafted the chair from 3/16" wall 6061 aluminum tubing, ensuring all welds were sealed to prevent crevice corrosion and eliminating the need for fasteners. For the seat, we hand-tied Dyneema catamaran netting to the frame with Dyneema thread, resulting in a durable, resilient beach chair built to last.
